Even the broadcom wireless reciever worked out-of-the-box (after doing the standard upgrade and allowing use of the propritary drivers). Today (January 30th 2010), I have upgraded my HP5101 (XP-home) with a Ubuntu 9.10. But what did work, was using ndiswrapper.
